Physical media is one of the last ways video creators can sell a finished work as a premium product, rather than disposable content optimized for feeds.
 
Blu-ray buyers are collectors. They pay real money, expect quality, and actively support work they value.

When promoted properly, physical releases still sell—and they generate meaningful revenue per unit, not volatile payouts tied to views, algorithms, or creator funds.

Unlike platform monetization, physical media doesn’t require permission.

All Blu-ray releases are sold exclusively through the K13 Store with a 50/50 net revenue split paid quarterly. This matches the payout structure used by boutique home-video labels.

Creators may also purchase personal copies at wholesale for screenings, festivals, conventions, and in-person merch tables. Wholesale pricing is based on current manufacturer costs.

Can’t I Just Do This Myself?
Most certainly—you can. And you should. We encourage creators who understand the physical media process to pursue this aveneu even if they ultimately decide to go it alone.

If you can author, manufacture, fulfill, and sell physical media entirely on your own, that’s valid. We encourage you to do it. Nothing about K13 exists to lock you in or obscure how this works.

What K13 provides is leverage. No minimum order quantities.
No upfront inventory risk. No trial-and-error learning curve.
More importantly, K13 is an ecosystem, not just a manufacturing service.

• Full manufacturing pipeline
• Store listing, fulfillment, and quarterly reporting/payment

Client Delivery Requirements (Strict)
Creators must submit a final, Blu-ray-ready master. We do not accept editing project files or fix exports.
Video Requirements
• MP4 (H.264 or H.265), or ProRes 422 / 422 HQ
• 1920 × 1080 only (letterbox is acceptable)
• 23.976 fps, 24 fps, or 29.97 fps (verified Blu-ray supported frame rates)
• Constant frame rate required
• Final export must be under 25 GB
• No HDR, Dolby Vision, or 4K

Audio Requirements
Either of the following is acceptable:
• Audio embedded in the video file (preferred)
• Separate stereo WAV or AAC 48 kHz file

Artwork Requirements
Upon purchase, K13 will supply the creator with art templates for integration.

All finished artwork must be to spec per K13-provided templates, including:
• Front and back cover art
• Spine art
• Disc-face art
• Required creator branding or credits
• Film/project description on back

K13 places artwork on the proper templates but does not design or revise art.

Not Accepted:
• Project files (.prproj, .fcpx, .drp, etc.)
• XMLs, raw media, or timelines
• Unfinished exports or files needing correction
• Multichannel mixes (5.1, 7.1, Atmos)

Production Timeline
Manufacturing begins within 3 business days after receiving the final video, audio, and artwork files.
Your title goes live on the K13 storefront within 24 hours after production begins.
